This is a drawing class reimagined: fresh, approachable, and full of creative possibility. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a returning artist, this session helps you build confidence in drawing through guided, creative exercises focused on shape, form, and personal expression.
We’ll begin by creating spontaneous watercolour splashes — soft or vibrant — based on chosen magazine images featuring nature, objects, or figures. These colours will be used to simplify and break down the busy visual background into something more emotive, abstract, or focused. From there, we’ll add expressive ink drawings overtop, using contour and form to highlight the essence of the subject.
The class emphasizes intuitive mark-making and bold creative choices rather than perfection or realism. You’ll discover how colour can lead your composition and how line can bring it to life. Each participant will leave with a one-of-a-kind illustrated work and a fresh, freeing approach to drawing.
