Harcourt House is one of only four public galleries, and one of three artist-run centres in Edmonton. We deliver a host of services to both artists and the community – and act as an alternative location for the presentation, distribution and promotion of contemporary art. In our exhibition programming we seek both emerging and established artists to present work that aims to engage.  The galleries annually presents a minimum of 10 six-week exhibitions, from local, provincial and national artists, collectives and arts organizations.

Harcourt House Artist Run Centre is legally titled the Where Edmonton Community Artists Network (WECAN) Society. Our organization was incorporated in 1987 with the intention to provide assistance to victims of the devastating tornado that hit Edmonton earlier that year. With the success of the art auction fundraiser the WECAN Society devoted its attention and energy into creating a permanent centre for the arts.
