Harcourt House Building Designated as a Municipal Historical Resource
On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Edmonton City Council officially designated the Harcourt House Building as a Municipal Historical Resource. This newly recognized site reflects the vision and efforts of an explorer, an architect, and a group of artists connected to the Where Edmonton Community Artists Network (W.E.C.A.N.) Society.

The W.E.C.A.N. Society / Harcourt House Artist Run Centre is extremely proud and honoured by the City Council’s decision. This designation marks a significant achievement in preserving the Harcourt House property as a vital cultural asset for future generations of artists and for Edmonton’s diverse communities.
