This exhibition celebrates the enduring power and complexity of the human form through a wide range of conceptual, stylistic, and formal approaches. Featuring drawings and paintings developed through Harcourt House’s Live Model Drawing sessions, Weekend and Long Weekend with the Model programs, as well as sculpture sessions and workshops with live models conducted by the Sculptors’ Association of Alberta (SAA), the exhibition reflects the depth and diversity of figure-based practice within the Harcourt House community.
The human body – rich in variation, gesture, and expression – has long served as a vital source of artistic inspiration. From early representations to contemporary interpretations, artists continue to explore its expressive potential as a site of observation, emotion, and narrative. The works presented in Definitive Form invite viewers into a dynamic visual dialogue, bringing together multiple perspectives and media while remaining rooted in a shared engagement with the figure.
As an annual tradition, the Naked Show provides artists of all levels with an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work while supporting the continued vitality of Harcourt House’s exhibitions and art education programs. This exhibition doubles as a fundraiser, with 30% of each artwork sold supporting Harcourt House, and 70% designated to the artists.
With Your Support Today, There Will Be Harcourt House Tomorrow!
