Formatted in 2009 AUDiNT is a research cell consisting of Steve Goodman and Toby Heys. The unit investigates the ways in which the military-industrial and military-entertainment complexes of the C20th and C21st have used sound, silence and noise to influence, manipulate, and torture the human body. Their ultimate task is to chart and narrate the evolution of sonic weaponry.

AUDINT is:

Dr. Steve Goodman: Steve Goodman produces music as Kode9 (www.myspace.com/kode9) and runs the record label Hyperdub (www.hyperdub.com/). He is a lecturer in Music Culture in the School of Social Sciences, Media and Cultural Studies at the University of East London, and runs the MA Programme in Sonic Culture. His book Sonic Warfare (MIT Press, 2010) is a theoretical investigation of sound, affect and power. Additionally, he is a member of the autonomous research collective, the Ccru (Cybernetic culture research unit).

Dr. Toby Heys: Toby Heys is a Digital Technologies Research Fellow at the Manchester Institute for Research and Innovation in Art and Design (MIRIAD) at Manchester Metropolitan University (England). He has produced over 70 solo exhibitions and 100 group exhibitions for galleries, museums, biennals, and festivals around the world since 1992.
