Immerse yourself in a unique artistic experience designed to boost your figure drawing skills through our “Theatrical Long Weekend with the Model” sessions during the May, 2026 long weekend.
These sessions stand out by featuring nude modelling complemented with minimal costumes, props, and carefully curated settings. This approach not only challenges artists to capture the human form with accuracy but also offers a chance to explore colour, texture, and mood. The models’ expressiveness and personality come to the forefront, enriching the visual narrative and providing deeper artistic engagement.
Each day is structured into two main sessions: a morning block from 10 am to 1 pm focusing on brief poses that sharpen quick observational skills, and an afternoon block from 2 pm to 5 pm presenting an extended pose to foster detailed study and refinement. Adding to the experience, the Sunday and Monday sessions feature couples posing together, enhancing the theatrical storytelling element and offering complex compositions that challenge perception and technique.
All experience levels are welcome. Easels, tables and chairs are available for use. Participants must provide their own drawing materials. There will be 6 models in total over the long weekend. These sessions are non-instructional.
Please note: Harcourt House Artist Run Centre employs experienced and professional models for all sessions and is committed to representing diversity. Studio monitors are on hand to stage models, keep time, and ensure prompt start time.
