Opening Reception: Thursday, April 21, from 7 pm – 10 pm

Originally a bookbinding term meaning, “to remove the pages from its binding”, Bruce uses DisBound as a metaphor for removing girls from the bonds of tradition so they can receive an education. As books are synonymous with knowledge and knowledge has the ability to empower, Bruce uses books as her canvas to address gender inequality; emphasizing the importance of education and the role it plays in shaping future generations. This exhibition is about education and choice.
