3rd floor, 10215 – 112 St, Edmonton, AB
Dear Friend of Harcourt House Artist Run Centre:
Mark the date: Friday, October 19, 2018 in your calendar and join us for the official opening of two powerful exhibitions dedicated to the notions of a ‘sense of space’ and ‘cultural identity’:
Natalie Jachyra: Lakeshore and Dixie
and
Laura Grier: People Walk Backwards / Dene K’et’a Ditla
Both exhibitions are united by the aspects of place, memory, history, culture, environment, and socio-economic issues. The difference between the projects is in media, conceptual, and formal approach, and in the final execution of the artists’ respective body of work.
The official opening of both exhibitions + wine & cheese reception (cash bar) will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 7 pm to 10 pm at Harcourt House Galleries, 3rd floor, 10215 – 112th Street NW in Edmonton. The Artist’s Talk by Natalie Jachyra will be presented at 7:30 pm. Admission is free. Both exhibitions will be showcased until December 1, 2018.
The Main Gallery features Lakeshore and Dixie, the audio and multi-media installation by Natalie Jachyra. This project is a culmination of Natalie’s 2017/2018 Artist-In-Residency Program at Harcourt House Artist Run Centre.
The Art Incubator Gallery features People Walk Backwards / Dene K’et’a Ditla, the exhibition of a striking suite of CMYK and lithograph prints by Laura Grier, an emerging artist and a First Nations cultural activist. Laura Grier is a Déline First Nations print artist born in Yellowknife, NWT and currently based in Edmonton.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
