Dear Friends of Harcourt House Artist Run Centre:
We would like to cordially invite you to the official opening of two intriguing exhibitions at Harcourt House Artist Run Centre: “Mandy Espezel: HEY NOW(s), WELLNESS CHECK(s), and other improbable obsessions” (The Main Gallery) and “Paul Boultbee: Shadow Man” (The Art Incubator Gallery).
The event will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 7 to 10 pm. Both exhibiting artists will be present and Mandy Espezel will provide an artist’s talk at approximately 8 pm. A wine & cheese reception (cash bar) will follow the official part. Admission is free. Both exhibitions run until May 19, 2017.
Mandy Espezel’s multi-media installation explores themes of socio-political and scientific current events, and the evolving conversation of identity politics. Most recently, her research has been concerned with the intersection of human evolution, gender, faith, and the role of media in the 21st century.
The concept of Paul Boultbee’s exhibition stems from a series of photographs taken by the artist during his travels through Europe and Central Alberta. A series of mixed media works combining memory, experience and process, are also autobiographical relying on symbols to convey meaning and story.
We look forward to welcoming you at Harcourt House and to providing you with the opportunity to connect with the exhibiting artists and with the Harcourt’s Team.
