In this workshop, Emilie St.Hilaire invites participants to create their own “Déjà vous” cards using materials provided. Emilie will discuss her artistic process and introduce participants to word and image games based on Surrealist exercises intended to initiate free association and creative composition.
Visitors are welcome to create a card any time during the exhibition and are encouraged to tweet their creations with the hashtag* #dejavous.
Guidelines for participation
- Text should not exceed 140 characters (approximately 1-2 sentences)
- All components must fit on the card provided
- Cards may be placed in available openings on the table
- Cards may be rearranged to create new connections and patterns
*What is a hashtag?
Twitter is a social media website that allows users to post messages (called “tweets”) up to 140 characters in length that other users can view on the site. A hashtag is a tag used to find specific tweets related to a topic. To view all tweets related to the Déjà vous exhibition search for #dejavous on Twitter. Internet enabled mobile devices or personal computers can be used to access www.twitter.com.
