Multicultural Week was April 22-26, 2013. Each class at Evansdale Elementary School picked a region and creates a presentation on the region to share during this week. Examples of regions are South America, Ukraine, First Nations, and Somalia.
From January to April, 2013, Harcourt House’s Community Education Coordinator, Stacey Cann, worked with the students to create illustrated books based on folk stories from their regions. Grade five and six students also created a Tableau Vivant based on their story. The illustrations were then scanned and turned into a digital book, which were displayed at multicultural week.
