Evansdale Elementary School in collaboration with Harcourt House Artist Run Centre have created four murals on the topic of human rights that will be hung in the hallways at the school. Each student created one tile which when combined creates a larger image. These images represent the right to be heard, the right to a safe environment, the right to be respected and the right to an education. The mural was completed between September 2012 and December 2012 and was unveiled on February 12, 2013.
Evansdale Elementary School participates in the UNICEF Rights Respecting School program and this mural celebrates their second year in the program. It also celebrates Harcourt House Artist Run Centre’s 25th year in the community.
