Harcourt House is challenging artists to create/select their submissions based on the exhibition title:
“Joy”
There are many ways we experience joy and with this exhibition Harcourt is eager to see a grand scope of the representation of this feeling.
The Harcourt House community is feeling tremendous joy and gratitude to all who helped facilitate the purchase of our current land and buildings and allowing us to have our 37th Annual Members’ Exhibition + Art Sale on the third floor of 10215 – 112 Street. We are looking forward to seeing how our Members’ present their joy and in the end, we await powerful and exciting works that offer the viewers insights into what artists reveal individually and collectively about the feeling of joy.
This call for submissions is for new and current Harcourt House Artist Run Centre’s members in good standing (paid membership). If you are practicing, non-member artist interested in participating, please go to our website at https://harcourthouse.ab.ca/become-a-member/ , stop by Harcourt’s Office or call during regular business hours (Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm) for membership information. Students and seniors are eligible for membership discounts.
All members are guaranteed to have one work displayed in the exhibition, whether they have followed the suggested theme or not (provided they adhere to the Submission Guidelines).
The Annual Harcourt House Members’ Exhibition allows our artists to exhibit and sell their work while doubling as a fundraiser for Harcourt House in support of Harcourt House’s Building Maintenance Reserve Fund. If artists choose to sell their work, Harcourt House will receive a 30% commission included in the price of the sale. The artists have an option to contribute 100% of their sales proceeds and a tax receipt for the full amount will be provided.
