The Main Gallery features a mixed media print series from Edmonton based artist, Karen Dugas. Titled Re-membering Ueno, this new body of work explores the functions of memory and the complex act of remembering. Each work features a photographic element from the artist’s previous trips to one of Tokyo’s oldest neighborhoods, as well as her interpretation of the memories from that place. The works are shown in pairs or groups, along with quotes from philosophers, writers and psychiatrists who have inspired Dugas’ practice.
Please join us on March 6th for the opening reception of this, and two other exhibitions. There will also be an artist talk given by John Latour at 7:30pm. John’s work will be exhibited in the Front Room Gallery.
Below are three pages, recording an interview between Connor Buchanan and Karen Dugas.
